She started playing tennis at age six and won several titles in the Brazilian Confederation of Tennis (CBT) Ranked among the top 15 singles and doubles players in Brazil's under-18 age group.
She won tournaments in the USTA league (United Tennis Association), in categories 16 and 18 years. Was named best tennis player of the year in Maranhão-Brazil five times in a row.
In 2007 she was the champion of the America International Tennis Championship Brazil (category under 23's) - São Paulo, SP, whose award was a scholarship at an American university. In 2009 she joined the women's tennis team of EKU (Eastern Kentucky University), where she became the number one player of the team. In 2011, she participated in the Ohio Valley Conference (Division I of the NCAA) and was tabbed the Adidas Player of the week and OVC Women's Player of the Year.
